Factors Contributing To Positive Nutritional Deviance in the Growth of Children Aged 6-36 Months in Rural Northern Ghana

The main aim of the study was to find out why some children are nutritionally better-off than others although they belong to the same environmental setting. This cross-sectional study conducted in rural Northern Ghana, compared nutritional positive deviant children (that is, neither stunted nor wasted) with children having at least one form of under nutrition with respect to household feeding care practices and other health seeking behaviours. Of the 1,168 children aged 6-36 months, 67.9 % (CI: 64.5 – 71.1) were classified as positive deviant (PD).
Global Trends in the Promotion of Fruit and Vegetable Consumption for Better Nutrition and Health

Most people would agree with the statement: fruit and vegetables are rich in micronutrients and health-promoting phytochemicals, and in many cases, low in energy. A healthy diet should be diverse with plenty of fruit and vegetables. Research provides strong evidence that increased intake of fruit and vegetables is associated with lower incidences of micronutrient deficiencies and non-communicable diseases, lower economic/social/personal costs induced by non-communicable diseases (NCDs), lower morbidity and mortality rates, and improved well-being.
On Rumen Microbial Evolution: Food Security Prospects
This article elaborates on discovering circadian rhythmicity of rumen microbial characteristics including pH, osmolarity, volatile fatty acids production and absorption capacity, lactate utilization capability, rumen liquid and solids volume and pool, microbial protein synthesis and efficiency, and microbial population diversity and variations. The evolution of ruminants on nature and during modernization has shaped such circadian properties of the rumen microbial ecology.
Developing a Cookbook with Lifestyle Tips: A Community-Engaged Approach to Promoting Diet-Related Cancer Prevention Guidelines

Supplementing nutrition education with skills-building activities may enhance community awareness of diet-related cancer prevention guidelines. To develop a cookbook with lifestyle tips, recipes were solicited from the National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer (NBLIC) community coalitions and dietary intake advice from participants in the Educational Program to Increase Colorectal Cancer Screening (EPICS). With guidance from a chef and registered dietitian, recipes were tested, assessed, and transformed; lifestyle advice was obtained from focus groups
Optimized Lifestyle via Timing of Food Intake: Bridging Ruminant Agriculture to Human Health
Ruminant discoveries help construct a promise to develop family programs on timing of eating to improve cell metabolism and overall body health. In light of the increasing concerns on obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular complexities, and cancer, public education must adopt optimum times of nutrient intake over the 24-h period. Such a guideline would include avoiding large evening and night meals, consuming early post-exercise breakfast, and distributing frequent meals during morning and early afternoon hours. Timing of food intake is a feasible approach to improve life quality in the postmodern era.
Chronoorchestration of Ruminant Voluntary Food Intake: A Novel Authority
Chronophysiology is an evolutionary pragmatic interscience that helps ruminants cope with the fluctuating environment. In light of the most recent discoveries on feeding and eating timing-orchestration of postprandial intake and rumen fermentation patterns, an innovative perspective is born to analyze chronophysiology as a major organizer of voluntary nutrient intake (VNI). This article elaborates on this postmodern innovation.
