Simulation of Indian Monsoon Droughts from State-of-Art Climate Models
Vinay Kumar*, Raghvan Krishnan
This paper made use of the hindcast simulations from COLA-AGCMs (Center for Ocean Land Atmosphere – Atmospheric General Circulation Models) and DEMETER (Development of a European Multimodel Ensemble System for Seasonal to Interannual Prediction) ocean-atmospheric coupled models, to understand the Inter Annual Variability (IAV) of Indian summer monsoon. The observed IAV of the Indian monsoon rainfall is not adequately captured by these state-of-art models.
