Pulmonary Hypertension Is Not an Absolute Contraindication for Bariatric Surgery

Pulmonary hypertension is often considered as a contraindication for bariatric procedures. It also contributes greatly to restricted lifestyle of morbidly obese patients. In morbidly obese patients it is usually associated with restrictive airway disease due to obesity as against primary pulmonary hypertension associated with underlying heart disease. Here we present a case report of patient with morbid obesity with pulmonary hypertension that underwent bariatric surgery
