Nontraumatic Orbital Hemorrhage after Mitral Valve Replacement

Published on: 2019-05-13

Background: To report an unusual case of orbital hemorrhage after mitral valve replacement. Case Description: A 31 year old woman presented with an acute protrusion of the double eyes after mitral valve replacement. CT demonstrated non-enhancing convex hyper-dense mass in bilateral orbits. After conservative treatment, there was a complete remission of the left eye lesion, while his right eye still had no light perception. Conclusion: Conservative treatment is first considered, while on poor vision, an orbital decompression may be further recommended.
