Abstract

Neurosyphilis results from brain, meninges or spinal cord infection and may develop in whom a manifest syphilis has passed untreated. The clinical symptoms are diverse and may present as a psychiatric disorder. This article from Lars Gustafson et al., reported two cases of neurosyphilis with neuropathological observations including retrospective evaluations, psychiatric characterizations, clinical features, laboratory and brain imaging findings. In both cases, patients displayed various psychiatric and neuropsychiatric symptoms.
